I know everyone says rolling is a bad idea, and this is certainly true for higher speeds. But I've always found that, for just pushing speeds, if you're fast you can roll straight over and back to your feet, escaping with maybe light scrapes. There's certainly a technique to it, like anything else practice makes perfect ;)

Yep well I been charging the push ups for the last few weeks but I haven't fallen off again yet but I can catch my body weight now when I dive at the ground much better.

pushups, swimming and any other upper body exercise will make crashing safer because your arms will be able to support your weight when you fall to the ground making it less likely for you to graze your hips and ribs.

Well I always go for the toes and hands when Doin dh. So elbow pads gloves and tough shoes help with this

For like freeriding
Just heighten your reflexes and learn to land
(motorbike position aha) and you will most of the time get out of it without even scuffing your pads

I hit cats eyes that i did not see and went down to the push up kinda thing, hip, ribs scrape, and knee pad slid down and meant that i got a good scrape there too. There was no time to slide cause the board just wobbled off course and just wasn't under my feet anymore, have to add extra velcro to the top knee pad strap so they barstards stay in place.

thanks leigh, trav, benbro etc.

If you fail your shutdown slide at least you know you will slide on your knees and hands. Thats my shutdown slide atleast where i put my hands out the front on the ground and push against the toeside rail to bring my board adjacent to the direction im going. Dont bail standing up and try to run it off. Probably the worse thing you can do...
