Hi all,
I'm just getting into this longboarding business, and am looking for a better place to practice than the street outside my house (which isn't great quality asphalt). Anyone know a quiet carpark, or other place that's good for practicing beginner stuff around Parramatta (Sydney)?
Thanks!

sweep is amazing, the only problem is that you have to get up heaps early so that you can get in and have a decent skate all before nine :/ oh and the road there is crazy smooth. just scout around your local neighbourhood and find some nice smooth hills; just go to the highest point you know of and have a look around :)
im always looking for excuses to go to sweep, so yeah, anyone want to go for a skate, just message me.
Permalink Reply by Leksi on August 5, 2011 at 19:49 actually dude i just checked the bus timetable and you dont really have much of a chance getting there on weekends. bus leaves at 6:48 from parra station and arrives at 7:48. i have asked he ranger why hes opening the gate at 8am instead of 9 and he said they arent following that anymore, its just whenever they arrive there they come open up the gate. i was there this morning and he opened it up at 7:20.
so the only chance of getting there on a bus is on school holidays when theres a 5:35am bus. otherwise you could take a train or whatever to get there but its just more trouble
and jordan ill be up for a sesh next week
if you wanna do some downhilling and if your up for the effort getting there you could come to the sweep in north ryde. the 545 bus from parra stops 50 metres away from it but itll take an hour or so to get there. if your up for it just message me

I had a good time at my in-laws place on Saturday, their street has a gentle slope on it, so I got to do some slides !! :)
Now I need to find someone closer to home (they live an hour away from me).

Permalink Reply by Will Smith on June 14, 2012 at 14:23 Sweeps been pretty much ruined. There's signs for no skaters and you have to get there at 6 to skate it because if the rangers see they'll almost always call the cops straight away. Not really worth it, but if you're still keen PM me and I'll send location to you. Also, I don't know anyone whos been able to get 65 on it. more like 50-55. Maybe 65 if you had a huge push and awesome tuck i guess
