Saw this discussion as I was looking for controllers on google, thought I'd chuck in my two cents.

Bruno from APS is quite good (not affiliated either!). He supplied us with custom motors to our board.

12kw, 4wd. Top speed calculated around 80km/h, but only had the guts to take it up to 50km/h.

Ben that ESC looks the goods if I knew what I was doing, there is a guy in oz with a 4kw mountainboard and he has fried a few esc's and he is about to throw one of these in. After this project if it goes well I will be a little bit more adventurous and go down that path... For batteries I'm throwing in two of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16227__ZIPPY_Flightmax_8... so the specs on the ESC are 100 Amp, HV 12S, it also has e skate specific firmware so thats another reason why I'm going with it.

Hey Nato- I hope you've received my kit by and an i'm wondering how your getting on with the build? Id love some photo/vid etc for my website. If you need any advise about electrics/batteries etc please speak to Bruno at Alien power systems. I think you will find his ESC are far superior to the one you buy at hobbyking..Check out my new vid and see how much were using it up hill on high power and with no problems

Their a good place for buying the batteries though.

There's a link on my website to his Ebay page and videos and photos etc to help you build the kit up..

I would totally buy from hobbyking, 70% cheaper components. ESC's aren't hard to setup either (I raced mini-z's and 1/10 touring for 3 years), you just need the right programming card. The battery will be the hardest bit to get right. but save a penny at hobbyking, this is probably your best bet for an esc …

i looked at the evolve boards as means of getting around without turning up at a location covered in sweat and needing a shower. The trucks on offer by them is some gullwing sidwinder style double pivot trucks. having ridden that truck before and not rating them, the biggest turn off was the trucks. Ithought evolve hada good product just wish they had standard trucks like the one above.

With the 200w limit that's what I figured and how would they know unless I'm racing cars up hills :)
