Head over to www.brisbanelongboarding.com and check it out!!
Upload your promo's, Check out the best locations in Brisbane! Use the forum to organise a session.
But remember the site is still new so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Send your suggestions to email@example.com
Hope to see you there!
ASRA is the only forum we need for a bris longboarder, your just complicating it with this.
My mate and I made that map your referring to as well, it's rubbish and unbelievably outdated.
As good as ASRA is, Its not dedicated to Brisbane...
When people use this new one they know they only have to look in one place to find something in Brisbane... It takes you less than 1minute to find someone who would be willing to skate...
On here you might be searching for a while...
Concerning the Map, A few friends and me are looking at either fixing it or completely making a new one. It is just there for the moment until we do.
Thanks for your feedback anyway
Sunshine state speedboarding. Put it into the search bar and comment on that thread. There are tons of people that skate in Brisbane. There is a Friday night carparks going on this week, followed by Toohey Tracks on Saturday and Mt Gravity race on Sunday morning. Have a look under the events tab!
Also, to do with the website... we already have the sunshine state group, friday night skates and plenty of weekend sessions, don't really see the need for another website. It's just about getting to know people then going out to skate!
Okay, Sunshine State speedboarding... In the description is says
"all the crew who live on the gold coast or vegas area heres the pace if your keen for a roll..im always looking for new hills and new people to ride with so lets get together and put urethane to bitumen"
.. But the difference with this is that it will be totally Brisbane dedicated... It will be alot easier to find a group of people to ride with.. The website will be a great place for people to meet fellow boarders in Brisbane..
I know I only joined last Wednesday..
I know there are all those groups.. But there is still no central Hub for all these things...
How would it go if I made a page where it linked to all of the and gave a short description to all of them.. Would you use
I know alot of people who Board man :) but we are always wanting to go out and meet new people and find new places to ride! :)
You say that people Add eachother on facebook and share numbers, But what about the younger riders.. Like 13, I dunno how they would go giving out there numbers and Facebook profiles...
It has only recently been uploaded, You can find the same site if you google Brisbane Longboarding.. It is like the 4th one down, justdareusto.com
This was the domain I used for the testing of the site.... In a week or so you will be able to find it on google.
The other problem is putting up locations in public view. Many of the harder runs have other names to keep them quiet in a public forum. We have the Sunshine Skate Society so we can plan stuff out of the public eye.
You will run a risk of the cops finding the site and just doing partols of the spots listed.
It's a great idea in theory, but probably limited to the groms, who may just even move to just using asra once they know everyone and are part of a group.
Website looks a bit tacky tbh bro. ASRA is the easiest. The longboarding community isn't big enough to warrant a new site for each city. Maybe in a few years when this site becomes too crowded a city/state specific site would be good, but for now this works perfect.
The facebook groups are pretty easy Rachael, the only downside is you will get notifications you don't really care about from all the groms.
For some reason new ones keep popping up, i'm in these two and some others at the moment:
There are some others, but those both have about 90 members and get a fair bit of use. If you post in there you will find people to longboard with around brisbane.

Where's the link tab.. Anything that's not fb I suck at hahaha.. If I type in flatland will it come up with people who do it?
Can you tell me which part looks tacky?? I dunno if you can be specific.. But If you can it would be heaps helpful!
If the site continually expands until the time when the Longboarding community do need a website for each State/City.. Then by the time this comes, brisbanelongboarding.com will be fully flourishing..
Thanks for the Help man!
