Description:
This is event is a social race held at the 'Hill Climb'. We are aiming to get as many riders as possible to the event as a chance for un-familiar riders to meet each other as well as have a bit of a race.
Think of this as any other skate session, except a larger crew and more orangised.
The road
Hill climb is a 3km long mild downhill run, ranging from short straights to almost hair pin like corners. Maximum speed reached will be 50km, there are a total of thirteen corners and road condition various from smooth to normal. Plenty of space to crash, The road is a great place to learn for the inexperienced and a nice race hill for the experienced (also a great leg burner). There is no footbreaking, sliding, drifting or predrifting required on the run except for the finish, where you will be required to footbreak or slide to stop (There is more than sufficient runout so you wont have to worry about stopping quickly)
Leathers are not required
Pads are optional, however recommended.
Helmet and gloves are compulsory
Time:
Racing will start at 11am sharp and will continue on until all races have been completed.
It is recommended that you arrive at 10am, and 10:45 at the latest
If you wish to help out with setting up, please try and be there at 8am
Food & Drink
Just down the road (1 min drive from the bottom of the run) is a fish & chips shop if you wish to buy lunch and drinks etc, otherwise bring your own food and drink in eskies.
Format:
The race will be held as an elimination ladder
-One division - all ages
-The start will have a 10m 'push zone', after this zone you will not be allowed to push
-If you crash you are allowed 5 pushes, from where you left the road
-No pumping (this can't really be enforced, however it's just to make things fair - It's a social race, If you do it your only cheating yourself)
-4 per race
-Top 2 from each race advance through to the next round
